4 Things You Won’t Want to Miss at MD&M West

January 27, 2017 / by Emily Ysaguirre

MD&M West is the world’s largest annual medtech expo and conferen001_8.jpgce. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be attending this year’s conference in Anaheim, CA from February 7-9th, where we will showcase Verse in booth #2147.

Here’s a list of 5 events you won’t want to miss.

  1. Myth Busting Event Keynote

We are very excited about the great keynote this year. Jamie Hyneman, former mythbuster and inventor is going to speak on what he does best—innovation, engineering and mythbusting. Hyneman is said to have a calm, logical and no-nonsense demeanor, so if you’re interested in cutting straight to the chase and learning all you can, stop by Hyneman’s session for his expertise on performing experiments and building devices.

  1. Robots and Machine Learning

Another reason we are particularly excited about MD&M West is their promotion of innovation. In this session, attendees will learn about robots and machine learning with Rob Spiegel (Design News), Bradley Weber (Datalogic) and Saeed Kazi (IBM Watson Internet of Things). This trio is going to take attendees on a journey to understanding innovation purposes surrounding machine learning, emerging software and how to best explore operator friendly developments while understanding limitations and algorithms. This session should be great for anyone looking for that next level of interaction between business and people as well as harnessing data for improvement.

  1. Bringing the Human Element into Root Cause Analysis

One of the key components of root cause analysis is understanding how the human element fits within the dynamic. In this compelling session, hosted by Stephen B. Wilcox (Design Science), he is going to delve into different methods for exploring the root cause of an event and the specific manners to be used based on user design flaws. This session will give attendees a better understanding of methods for using root cause analysis.

  1. Factoring in Cost and Time to Market

Money matters, as this session illustrates, and we couldn’t agree more. This session, hosted by Blake Stancik (Product Creation Studio), will highlight how to introduce costs into the product development lifecycle. Anyone looking to impact their bottom line should visit this session where Stancik will discuss why a team is important, how to focus on a program rather than just a project and more. Check out his session while you’re at MD&M.

We hope this roundup leaves you just as excited as we are! If you’re interested in more information, visit the MD&M West website or check out this awesome post from Jamie Hartford on the MDDI Blog.

We look forward to seeing you there!
